At the University of Cape Town, I held several academic and institutional service roles across multiple domains. Within the Department of Sociology, I served as Co-convener of the General Sociology Stream from 2019 to 2021. I was also an active member of the Departmental Mental Health and Advocacy Committee and the Departmental Ethics Review Committee during the same period, contributing to both student wellbeing and ethical research oversight.

Beyond departmental roles, I was engaged in various student support and governance structures. I served as a Member of the College of Wardens (2012–2014) and chaired the Residence Sustainability Committee in 2012, where I advocated for more environmentally conscious campus living. Earlier in my academic journey, I was actively involved in student leadership. I served on the Postgraduate Students’ Council within the Faculty of Law in 2011, and held several elected positions during my undergraduate years, including Societies Coordinator on the Student Representative Council (2008–2009).

Additionally, I was a Member of the University Senate, the Institutional Forum, and the University Naming of Buildings Committee from 2008 to 2009. I also contributed to key student support structures as a Member of the Faculty of Science Readmissions and Appeals Committee and as Co-Chair of the Student Societies and Organisations Committee during the same period. My long-standing service on the University Student Affairs Committee (2007–2009) and the Residence Catering Service and Food Forum (2007–2008) reflects my commitment to holistic student development and university governance.
