In addition to my research and teaching responsibilities, I have played an active role in academic administration and institutional leadership. Within the Department of Sociology at the University of the Western Cape, I served as the First-Year Coordinator from 2022 to 2023, and since 2024, I have held the position of Honours Coordinator. I also represent the department on several key Faculty Committees, including the Learning and Teaching Committee, the Student Affairs Committee, and the Library Committee. My contributions extend to the broader discipline of Sociology, where I have supported the growth and visibility of the field both nationally and internationally. From 2014 to 2020, I served as Treasurer and Executive Council Member of the South African Sociological Association (SASA), and I am currently a Board Member of the International Sociological Association’s Research Committee on Education (ISA RC04). Furthermore, I am proud to be the Founding Convener of the Sociology of Schooling Research Group within SASA, an initiative aimed at fostering scholarly engagement and collaboration in the field of education and schooling.
